The predicted salary is between 34000 - 51000 £ per year.

As a Vet you will be accountable for patient care within the clinic, whilst ensuring we deliver exceptional care, always there for our clients, patients and colleagues whilst maintaining the highest levels of regulatory and operational standards and compliance.

The Opportunity:

Medivet Buxton is located in the stunning spa town of the famous Buxton thermal waters and situated in the western part of the Peak District. The town makes a wonderful place to live, visit and work, with plenty of recreational opportunities from the numerous spas to performing arts festivals such as the Buxton Fringe festival, music, markets and more. Beyond the town itself you will find yourself living in open countryside with close travel links to Manchester.

Buxton practice has a friendly client base who appreciates the personal service we provide. The practice has 1 other Vet and Nurse along with a support team that are dedicated to our client and patient needs. We are lucky enough to have within the Derbyshire region our Buxton and New Mills practices that work closely together in partnership and although this position is primarily at our Buxton practice there will be 1 - 2 days per week at our New Mills practice approximately 25-minute commute.

There will be some sole charge involved in this position so it would help if you were confident working on your own, although support is always just a phone call away and there will also be opportunities to work with our larger New Mills team to work up cases to a high standard.

We are offering this on a part time basis working a 4 days per week 9:00 – 17:00 and no weekends, although we will ask on occasion to cover when needed. Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
  • Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  • Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
  • Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
