The practice is a short 10 minute walk from Salisbury’s vibrant city centre, boasting outstanding shopping, dining and cultural experiences. Outside of Salisbury, you’ll find picturesque, rolling countryside and we’re only 10 miles from one of the UK’s favourite landmarks… Stonehenge!

The practice itself hosts a busy caseload from a very loyal client base, established over the last 20 years with a high surgical demand. There are three stunning consult rooms, a theatre, dental and digital x-ray, ultrasound, a K-laser and a pharmacy, which are all supported by our established Nursing and Reception team.

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with 2 or more years of experience from a small animal practice and who is confident with most routine surgery and medicine.

Working pattern
4-day working week with consistent days off
1:3 Saturday shifts

We can offer relocation allowances should you move more than 50 miles from your current home address.

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

  1. Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
  2. Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
  3. Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
  4. Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  5. Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
  6. Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
  7. Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience

  1. RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  2. Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  3. Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  4. Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  5. Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  6. Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  7. Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
