Acting as a cross‑commodity subject‑matter expert, you will collaborate closely with internal teams, engage directly with clients and media, and represent Kpler at industry events. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyse cross‑commodity relationships, including spreads, correlations, substitution effects and macroeconomic linkages.
- Monitor developments across adjacent markets (e.g. metals and soft commodities) and identify emerging themes where market attention may shift.
- Develop integrated, multi‑commodity views on global supply and demand dynamics.
- Monitor geopolitical developments, including energy security considerations, and assess their potential impact on commodity markets.
- Liaise directly with clients and external stakeholders, articulating the value proposition of Kpler’s cross‑commodity data and insights.
- Support pre‑ and post‑sales activities by demonstrating cross‑commodity use cases across Kpler’s product suite.
- Represent Kpler at industry events, conferences, webinars and client engagements as a cross‑commodity subject‑matter expert.
- Work closely with Market Data and Insights teams across commodity verticals to ensure alignment of market views.
- Contribute to thought leadership focused on cross‑commodity dynamics and global trade flows.
- Engage with media outlets to position Kpler as a leading authority in cross‑commodity research.
- Mentor and support analysts across multiple commodity verticals.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5–10 years’ experience in commodities research, strategy or trading, with a strong cross‑commodity focus.
- Strong understanding of cross‑commodity trading concepts, including spreads, correlations and relative value analysis.
- Proven experience analysing supply and demand balances across multiple commodity markets.
- In‑depth knowledge of global trade flows, logistics and the geopolitical factors influencing commodity markets.
- Track record of producing high‑quality, decision‑relevant research and market analysis.
- Ability to synthesise data across multiple markets into a coherent and actionable market narrative.
- Experience working with large, proprietary datasets and quantitative analysis tools.
- Comfortable engaging directly with clients and supporting commercial activities, including pre‑ and post‑sales initiatives.
- While SQL or Python is not required, the ability to manage and automate data workflows is highly desirable.
