About Us

There’s something special about working for a company like Macquarie Telecom. We’re not the biggest in the industry, where you’re just a number. We’re not tiny enough that you’ve never heard of us. We’re in that sweet spot where we’re strong enough to punch above our weight. And we definitely do! Because of this, you have the opportunity to make a difference.

The Opportunity

At Macquarie Technology Group, we're not your typical technology company. We're Australia's data centre, cloud, cyber security and telecom provider for mid-market and enterprise customers, and we're growing. We're looking for a Customer Solutions Engineer to join our Telecom Service Delivery team. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for the design, technical approval, implementation and delivery of customer solutions across our networking, voice, security and data services portfolio.

Working closely with Project Managers, customers, vendors and engineering teams, you'll own the technical outcome from post-sales through to operational handover. You'll play a key role in ensuring customer solutions are delivered to the highest standards while providing a great customer experience throughout the project lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with customers and designing managed secure network solutions across a broad range of SD-WAN, cloud, DR, voice, security technologies and access networks.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Reviewing and approving customer solutions to ensure they are technically sound and deliverable.
  • Producing detailed solution designs and supporting non-standard customer requirements.
  • Delivering secure networking, SD-WAN, voice and security solutions for enterprise customers.
  • Managing projects through implementation, testing and operational handover.
  • Supporting customer projects across SD-WAN, Cloud, SIP, SWG, ZTNA, DLP, CASB and broader Telco technologies.
  • Working directly with customers to validate requirements, coordinate implementation activities and conduct testing.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers, Service Assurance, Product, Architecture and Operational teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate technical documentation and solution records.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Driving continuous improvement across delivery processes and customer environments. Using AI, scripting and automation is strongly encouraged.

About You:

  • A hands-on engineer who enjoys designing and delivering customer solutions.
  • Comfortable working directly with customers and building trusted relationships.
  • Able to confidently engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solver who enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple customer projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrates ownership, accountability and attention to detail.
  • Naturally curious and committed to continuous learning and technical development.
  • Calm under pressure and capable of managing critical implementation activities.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience across telecommunications, networking or infrastructure environments.
  • Experience delivering customer solutions across enterprise networking and security technologies.
  • Strong understanding of MPLS, BGP, SD-WAN, security routing and switching technologies.
  • Hands-on experience provisioning and configuring vendor solutions including Cisco, Juniper, Velocloud, Fortinet or Netskope networking environments.
  • Experience working with SIP and voice technologies.
  • Experience deploying and supporting SD-WAN solutions.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Fortinet firewall technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working directly with customers in a project delivery environment.
  • CCNA, JNCIA, CCNP, JNCIS or equivalent networking certifications.

Why Join Macquarie Telecom?

You'll join a team that values technical excellence, ownership, collaboration and customer experience. You'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of networking, voice, security and infrastructure technologies while partnering with some of Australia's leading enterprise and government organisations. We invest heavily in our people, support ongoing learning and certifications, and provide the opportunity to work on complex customer environments using best in class vendor technologies including Velocloud, Fortinet, Netskope, Cisco and Juniper solutions.
