About the Role

The Athletic is seeking a Live Reporter to work with some of the best sports writers in the world and a talented team of editors to produce exceptional live blogs across a variety of sports on a daily basis. The right candidate will have experience working on a national sports desk or similar, a brilliant quality of copy and an engaging, driven approach to live coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Writing, editing and publishing content in live blogs.
  • Experience with producing breaking news content in an accurate, timely manner.
  • Curating the best content from social media.
  • Working with reporters to produce news stories and copy in their voice for live experience.
  • Collaborating with news editors to keep blogs up to date.
  • Understanding SEO and best practices.
  • Understanding of trends – both on search and social media.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of live blogging experience.
  • A solid background in sports journalism.
  • High-end knowledge of a variety of different sports.
  • Must be flexible and collaborative.

This role is based in the United Kingdom and will work remotely.
