This role is responsible for leading and coordinating technology-driven projects that support data and performance initiatives within humanitarian programs. The Project Manager will oversee METAL software development projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and alignment with organizational goals. This position requires a hands‑on approach to Agile project management, including backlog management, sprint planning, and task tracking, while collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and technical leadership. The successful candidate will drive efficient project execution, manage risks, and provide transparent reporting to stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to influence technology adoption, strengthen program effectiveness, and contribute to a culture of evidence‑based decision‑making across global operations.
Accountabilities
- Develop, maintain, and update integrated project plans and work breakdown structures aligned with project objectives and scope.
- Manage project status reporting, including progress, risks, budget, and key milestones to stakeholders and project teams.
- Oversee project resources, scheduling, and task assignments, ensuring availability and alignment with project goals.
- Conduct risk management, maintaining documentation of identified risks and mitigation strategies.
- Provide project administration by documenting meetings, tracking action items, and following up to resolve issues.
- Coordinate planning and execution of requirements gathering, solution design, development, and testing.
- Ensure METAL projects adhere to Agile methodologies and organizational project management best practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience managing complex IT or software projects, ideally in humanitarian or information systems contexts.
- Proven success in leading technology projects with multiple stakeholders and components.
- Experience with Agile project management tools, preferably Jira.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor\'s degree required; project management certification (PMP, CSM, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in international NGOs or global humanitarian organizations is an advantage.
- Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
