We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and dedicated Deputy Manager to join our well-established 4-bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children's home in Sittingbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential.

About the Role

As the Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth and effective running of the home. You will lead the staff team, promote high standards of care, and maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations. Your role will be vital in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for the children and young people in your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operations of the home
  • Lead, coach, and supervise the care team to deliver outstanding care and outcomes
  • Ensure the home meets all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Manage care plans, risk assessments, and administrative duties to a high standard
  • Support with staff training, development, and performance reviews
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide occasional direct support when needed
  • Foster a culture of positivity, respect, and safeguarding excellence

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in a residential children's home (EBD setting preferred)
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People (Level 5 or willingness to work towards it desirable)
  • Sound understanding of Ofsted regulations and children's safeguarding frameworks
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people
