Senior Support Worker – Children\’s Residential Home
Location: Thurrock
Setting: 4-Bed Children\’s Home
Salary: Β£31,000 per annum plus sleep ins

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team at a newly established 4-bed children\’s home in Sittingbourne, Kent. This is a meaningful opportunity to play a key role in a new service, supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nurturing day-to-day care, guidance, and emotional support to the young people in our home.
  • Support the Home Manager in maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance.
  • Lead by example and mentor junior staff members.
  • Help create a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
  • Promote positive outcomes, independence, and resilience in young people.
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and reporting.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • Minimum of 2 years\’ experience in a children\’s residential setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and child development
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
