Compass Group’s Medirest division is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Soft Services Trainer to support, develop, and empower our domestic and housekeeping teams within the busy, high‑performing environment of Addenbrooke’s Hospital. What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver engaging, hands‑on training sessions to domestic, housekeeping, and soft services staff across all shift patterns.
- Provide high‑quality onboarding for new starters and refresher training for existing colleagues.
- Train teams on cleaning methods, equipment use, infection prevention, waste management, linen handling, and patient area protocols.
- Deliver development training for supervisors and managers covering leadership basics, audits, documentation, and quality standards.
- Coach colleagues on safe systems of work, proper PPE use, and safety‑first behaviours.
- Ensure all training aligns with NHS cleaning standards, statutory guidelines, and internal policies.
- Conduct competency assessments and maintain accurate training records.
- Identify skill gaps and provide targeted learning solutions.
- Support operational audits and act as a subject‑matter expert for managers and team leaders.
- Provide on‑the‑floor coaching during live operations to reinforce best practice.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, managers, and client stakeholders, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a confident communicator, an inspiring coach, and someone who takes pride in raising standards. Ideally, you will have:
- Experience delivering training or coaching in hospitality, healthcare, soft services, or facilities management.
- A strong understanding of domestic or housekeeping operations (hospital experience desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suited to a diverse workforce.
- The ability to motivate, develop, and engage colleagues at all levels.
- Flexibility to work across varying shifts to support a 24/7 hospital environment.
- Confidence delivering both classroom‑based training and hands‑on demonstrations.
- Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail around record‑keeping.
- Knowledge of infection control and safe cleaning practices (training can be provided).
- A proactive, practical approach with a passion for raising standards.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Train the Trainer or Level 3 Award in Education & Training
- IOSH Working Safely / Managing Safely
- BICSc or City & Guilds cleaning qualifications
