We're currently recruiting a dedicated Porter to help ensure the smooth running of operations at Healthcare on a part time basis, contracted to 25 hours per week; Thursday to Monday afternoons/evenings, including weekends.

As a Porter, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of customer care and cleanliness. In return, you will have the chance to progress your career with a company that invests in its people, celebrates individuality, and rewards and recognises employees who go beyond the plate.

Here’s what you need to know before applying:

  • Transportation of patients and visitors to and from departments within the hospital on beds/wheelchairs/trolleys within a timely manner.
  • Transportation of clinically related items and goods around the hospital within a timely manner, some of which can be heavy.
  • Use of electronic vehicles for internal collections/deliveries to departments.
  • Work as part of a team, to provide a comprehensive Portering Service to patients, staff and visitors.
  • Follow Company, Departmental and Trust policies and procedures.

Our ideal Porter will:

  • Be able to meet the physical demand of this role; have the capability of walking for long periods as duties require a combination of walking, standing, lifting, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to work in a busy and fast-paced department.
  • Be adaptable and easily embrace changing priorities.
  • Be a brilliant communicator and easily build relationships.
  • Have experience delivering high quality customer care.
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrate exceptional timekeeping and reliability.

Please note that duties may involve coming into contact with distressed patients/visitors.
