Medirest, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, is seeking an experienced and commercially focused HR People Partner to support our Healthcare Support Services division across London. This is a key role partnering senior operational leaders across healthcare environments, helping to deliver exceptional people solutions that drive business performance and service excellence.
The Role
As an HR People Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the people agenda across a diverse operational workforce. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide strategic and operational HR expertise, supporting employee engagement, organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, and change initiatives within a fast-paced healthcare support services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior operational leaders to develop and deliver people strategies aligned to business objectives.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations matters, including those within unionised environments.
- Lead and support organisational change programmes, restructures, consultations, and TUPE transfers.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, talent development, and performance management initiatives.
- Support succession planning and workforce planning activities to ensure organisational capability.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, NHS client requirements, and company policies.
- Coach, develop, and challenge managers to build people management capability across the business.
- Analyse people data and trends to identify risks, opportunities, and solutions that support operational performance.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across operations, HR, and client organisations.
About You
- Proven experience in an HR Business Partner role within healthcare support services, Soft Services, Facilities Management, catering, hospitality, or a similarly operational environment.
- Strong experience managing complex employee relations matters and trade union relationships.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law, organisational change, and workforce planning.
- Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders while maintaining strong working relationships.
- Commercially minded with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- CIPD qualified (Level 5/7) or working towards qualification is desirable.
- Knowledge of healthcare Facilities Management (FM), Soft Services, and catering operations within NHS or healthcare environments is highly desirable.
