Are you an experienced security leader ready to take ownership of a large-scale, complex healthcare environment? We are looking for a Security & Risk Manager to lead an established Medirest Healthcare Security, Car Parking and Risk function, playing a critical role in protecting patients, staff, visitors, and hospital operations.
The Opportunity
You will lead and develop a team of 40+ security professionals, overseeing all aspects of security, car parking operations, and risk management across a busy acute hospital setting. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with NHS stakeholders, police, and senior leaders, ensuring safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading security, car parking, and risk services across the site
- Managing incident response, investigations, and post-incident reviews
- Maintaining risk registers, driving mitigation strategies, and improving resilience
- Ensuring compliance with NHS, CQC, SIA, GDPR, and Martyn’s Law
- Overseeing CCTV, access control, patrols, and emergency response
- Supporting clinical teams with de-escalation and patient safety interventions
- Delivering business continuity and disaster recovery planning
- Managing rotas, performance, training, and workforce development
- Building strong relationships with Trust leadership and external partners
About You
- Proven leadership experience within healthcare security
- Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance, and incident handling
- Confident communicator, able to influence at senior stakeholder level
- Experienced in managing large teams in fast-paced, high-pressure settings
- Skilled in de-escalation, with an empathetic and professional approach
- SIA licence essential (CCTV desirable)
