Lead the services that make outstanding healthcare possible. Behind every exceptional patient experience is a seamless non-clinical operation. We’re seeking a Head of FM Operations to take ownership of some of the most critical support services in healthcare — Portering, Domestic Services, and Logistics — and lead them into the future. This is a high-profile senior leadership role with real autonomy and influence. You’ll shape strategy, drive operational excellence, and lead large, diverse teams in one of the UK’s most complex and rewarding healthcare environments. If you thrive on scale, pace, and purpose, this role offers all three.
The Impact You’ll Make
- Set the standard - Design and deliver a best-in-class Non-Food Service Delivery Model across multiple sites.
- Protect patients and people - Ensure absolute compliance with NHS, HSE, and contractual standards, with infection prevention and safety at the heart of everything you do.
- Lead high-performing teams - Inspire, develop, and empower multi-disciplinary operational teams to consistently deliver excellence.
- Transform performance - Use data, insight, and KPIs to drive smarter ways of working and measurable service improvements.
- Work as one system - Partner closely with clinical, operational, and senior stakeholders to align non-food services with patient care priorities.
- Drive change and innovation - Lead mobilisation, service redesign, and digital transformation initiatives across the estate.
- Deliver commercially - Own budgets, identify efficiencies, and ensure services are sustainable, resilient, and value-driven.
About You
You’re an experienced operational leader who understands that great healthcare relies on great support services. You’re equally comfortable setting strategy and being visible on the ground, and you know how to lead through complexity and change. You’ll bring:
- 5+ years’ experience leading large, multi-disciplinary operational teams (e.g. cleaning, portering, logistics, facilities).
- Strong knowledge of NHS or healthcare standards and regulated environments.
- A proven ability to engage, motivate, and develop teams at scale.
- Commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets and delivering services within financial targets.
- Confidence in change management, transformation, and stakeholder engagement.
- A genuine passion for service excellence, sustainability, and patient experience.
Why Join Us?
- A role with real influence over services that directly affect patient safety and wellbeing.
- A culture that champions innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
- Clear progression and development opportunities within a large, global organisation.
- The chance to lead at scale — and see the impact of your work every single day.
