We are hiring Support Workers/Practitioners in our weekend services for children and young people with additional support needs based in Edinburgh.

We are looking for people who can provide fun, meaningful activities such as baking, arts and crafts, games, sports, trips in the community and outdoor play to support young people to have lots of fun!

We have a flexible approach to the shifts you work, working hours are between 9.45am - 2.15pm at Weekends. As a relief member of staff you can choose the shifts you wish to work!

We are particularly looking for support worker to join our team on a Saturday at our Riccarton hub!

If you are a qualified childcare practitioner (SVQ3/HNC Childcare qualification) this is extremely desirable however not essential, Capability Scotland will provide mandatory training and can support you to complete an SVQ level qualification in relation to the role!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, sports, baking, and games.
  • Support young people to participate in outdoor play and community trips.
  • Provide personal care as required, ensuring dignity and respect for each individual.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment where young people feel supported.

Who We\'re Looking For:

  • Passionate individuals who enjoy working with children and young people with additional support needs.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • A qualification in childcare (SVQ3/HNC Childcare qualification) is desirable, but not required. Capability Scotland will provide mandatory training and can support you in completing an SVQ level qualification if needed.
  • A flexible approach to work and a willingness to work both holiday and weekend shifts.
