Job Description

Role – Social Care Worker (Older People Services)
Location – GCHSCP, 10 Ardencraig Place, Castlemilk, Glasgow, G45 9US
Contract Status – Permanent

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GHSCP) is seeking to recruit Social Care Workers to support the delivery of Occupational Therapy services in the South sector of the City within Older People Services.

As a Social Care Worker within the Occupational Therapy Team, you will play a vital role in assessing the needs of disabled and older adults within their homes, with the aim of promoting and supporting personal independence.

This role places a strong emphasis on the provision of equipment, adaptations, and community care services. You will work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, engaging closely with Occupational Therapists, health and social care professionals, and a range of partner agencies. A strengths-based approach to assessment underpins all aspects of your work.

You will manage a high-demand caseload and benefit from agile working arrangements. To succeed in this role, you should have a sound understanding of the impact of disability on individuals and their families, a flexible and responsive approach to service delivery, and excellent communication skills.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
