City Centre Campus, Bath as the main base. September Start! Term Time Only Mon-Thu 8:30 - 17:00 and Fri 8:30-16:30 with an hour unpaid lunch. £19,755 - £20,151 actual salary for 37 hours per week - this includes holiday and bank holiday pay (£23,492 - £23,962 - Full Time Equivalent salary).

This role is key in providing excellent support to SEND Learners with EHCPs across the college, primarily on vocational courses. The post holder will work with a case load of identified Learners who have a variety of support needs using tools to promote independence and will include the use of assistive technology and appropriate strategies for learners on their pathway to adulthood.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with initial, diagnostic and other assessments.
  • Work in close liaison with the College’s Inclusion Staff to provide effective support to identified Learners to enable them to fully access their learning programme and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Proactively identify strategies to meet the needs of learners and to promote the use of assistive technology wherever possible to enable independence.
  • Provide effective support for Learners including (but not limited to) 1:1 support, classroom support, out of class support (such as lunch and breaks) and on visits and study trips.
  • Monitor learners’ progress and provide timely feedback on learners’ development which may be included in reports to parents, carers, employers and other external agencies using the College systems including Mark Book, ProMonitor, ProSolution and ProPortal.
  • Adapt and interpret teaching and instructions for learners as appropriate.
  • Pro-actively contribute to and implement Individual Learning Plans, monitoring achievement against targets including EHCP outcomes.
  • Provide physical support to students where appropriate, e.g. carrying and organising equipment, supporting learners using wheelchairs, toilet hoists, etc.
  • Assist Learners to use the toilet as appropriate and to provide personal care where required.
  • Follow agreed weekly timetables keeping Outlook calendar up to date.
  • Contribute to reviews of support as appropriate throughout the year.

  • Maths and English GCSE’s Grade A* to C or equivalent.
