Support your local community by joining Essex County Council's School Crossing Patrol Team at Elsenham CE Primary School, High Street, Bishops Stortford. Help ensure the safety of children crossing the road in the morning and afternoon.

About the Role

This part-time position involves approximately 7.5 hours per week, during the 39-week academic year. You will work about 45 minutes in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) and 45 minutes in the afternoon (14:45 - 15:45), depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pedestrians, including those with disabilities, at the crossing point.
  • Maintain contact with the schools served by the crossing.

  • Maintain proper condition of uniform and equipment.
  • Signal to drivers to stop traffic safely, ensuring pedestrians can cross.
