Job Description

Role - Occupational Therapist Technician (Technical Services)

Location - GCHSCP, Unit 17-22 Nurseries Road, Baillieston Distribution Centre, Glasgow, G69 6UL

Contract Status - Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for four Occupational Therapist Technicians to join Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership\'s (GCHSCP) Community Equipment Service, which operates on behalf of multiple local authorities throughout Scotland and Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS. We are the UK\'s largest provider of assistive technology equipment.

Reporting directly to the Technical Supervisor, your duties will include installation, delivery, uplift, maintenance, and repair of daily living aids and nursing equipment such as grab rails and hospital beds within clients\' homes, using company supplied tools and equipment. You will liaise with internal and external agencies including Social Work and Health personnel, detailing tasks completed, whilst ensuring work undertaken complies with all elements of Health and Safety.

The successful candidate will be empathetic, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and possess strong inter-personal and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, accurately, and confidently. You should demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, use your initiative when required, work independently and as part of a team, and have a flexible approach to the needs of the business. Previous experience working with vulnerable service users would be advantageous.

Possession of a full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential upon taking up the appointment. Please note that successful candidates will be required to pay for their PVG membership.

These roles are excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
