The Role
Leominster Library is looking for a part time Library Assistant to work 18.75 hours per week.
The hours of work will be based in the North of the County (Leominster, Kington and Bromyard libraries) and the ability to travel is essential:
Week 1 - Monday 09:15 to 17:00 (7.25 hours), Tuesday 09:30 to 17:00 (7 hours), Friday 9.15 to 13.15 (4 hours)
Week 2 – Tuesday 09:15 to 18:15 (8 hours), Friday 09:15 to 17:00 (7.25 hours), Saturday 09:15 to 13:15 (4 hours)
We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and can use their initiative. You will need to provide excellent customer service, have good IT skills, cash handling skills and have an enthusiasm for helping others. The role will frequently involve manual handling tasks such as shelving books, moving collections, packing, and unpacking deliveries.
Activities will include the delivery of BookTrust Storytime for the under 5’s and assisting with children’s events e.g. Summer Reading Challenge.

Occasional lone working will be required in this role, as will flexibility to cover other days/sites if required.
