The Coach & Horses is perfectly situated in the centre of Barnard Castle, a very busy market town in County Durham. As we approach Summer, the pub will be at its busiest for the next 4-5 months with the tourists that flock to the area, but it is also a major attraction for tourists all year round with the scenic aspect, Castle and Bowes museum close by. This is a great prospect for a licensee who is passionate about connecting with their local town and community.
There is one long central bar that services the main drinking area at the front of the pub and the pool room towards the top. There is a covered smoking area/patio at the side of the pub and then a large paved beer garden with numerous tables for the better weather. The pub also has 7 letting rooms and a catering kitchen.
The site currently takes on average £6,000 per week with 90% of sales from the wet side of the business and 10% from the 7 letting rooms, but has the potential to achieve up to £10,000 a week by implementing a great own food menu and increasing drinks sales.
We are looking for a licensee/s who can build strong links within the local community and has the drive to boost sales and drive the Coach & Horses to reach its full potential.
What’s in it for you?
- 20% share of weekly wet sales, excluding VAT.
- Keep 100% of the room and food sales.
- Low ingoing costs, starting with just a £5,000 deposit and £360 legal cost. (*deposits can vary depending on business - ask us for more details*)
- Accommodation included with most bills covered, except the council tax & TV License.
If this is not the pub for you, do you know someone who is? If so, let us know using our Refer a Friend scheme and if successful in being placed in the pub, we will give you £1,000! (Terms & conditions apply)
