KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity, and performance.
  • Responsible for the safe supervision of facilities and the health and safety of all facility users.
  • Provide effective, preventative lifeguarding during all pool sessions.
  • Carry out emergency action plans in case of accidents or injuries, including water rescues and first aid, in line with training.
  • Maintain physical and lifesaving training to comply with current Health & Safety regulations and standards set by High Life Highland, participating in required training.
  • Assist with and supervise the safe operation of water and land-based activities.
  • Organise and lead activities and classes within the programme as required.
  • Encourage safe and acceptable user behaviour.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained to safety and cleanliness standards and set out safely when needed.
  • Liaise with other users and staff regarding day-to-day centre operations.
  • Regularly update yourself on relevant written procedures.
  • Report any suggested improvements to the centre manager or supervisor to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure the facility cleaning programme is completed to standard.
  • Perform reception and cashier duties, including admissions and cash control.
  • Deliver inductions in the Fitness Suite.
  • Promote and sell High Life Memberships to potential customers.
  • Provide high levels of customer care.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and contribute to continuous improvement at Dingwall Leisure Centre and High Life Highland.
  • Attend and complete training, online or in person.
  • Strive to reduce wastage and support environmental sustainability in all tasks.
  • Support other areas of High Life Highland with projects, training, or cover during holidays or sickness, working cross-functionally.
  • Work on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with advance notice for leave requests.
  • Perform tasks following High Life Highland policies and procedures, including GDPR, health and safety, and reporting concerns for corrective action.
