We have an opportunity for a Business Support Officer, Statutory Services, working within Corporate Operations, Business and Executive Support, District Children and Families based at The Old House, Lichfield, with occasional work from Burntwood Library.
This is a full-time permanent position. The hours are Monday-Thursday 8.30am-5.00pm and Friday 8.30am-4.30pm. The post is mainly office-based, with some home working arranged on a rota depending on service needs.
We are looking for someone to provide high-level business support administration to assist Social Work Practitioners across several teams.
Business Support is vital to the success of Children\βs Services, ensuring smooth operations so frontline colleagues can effectively serve Children and Families in the community. The essential work done behind the scenes requires dedicated colleagues who take pride and see purpose in their work.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform core business functions and collaborate with Team Managers, Social Workers, professionals, and partners. This includes attending and servicing various statutory meetings across districts.
You should have full knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and proficiency with its main applications. Responsibilities also include chasing professionals for paperwork to meet deadlines, inputting and sharing data, maintaining database accuracy through cleansing, and possibly undertaking financial transactions. There may also be opportunities to support broader office functions to assist overall business support services.
The Ideal Candidate
Working in Business Support requires teamwork, good organisational skills, and competency in IT systems. You will also need:
- NVQ Level III in Business Administration or equivalent.
- An IT qualification comparable to ICDL Advanced (L3) or similar.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting across the organisation and externally via phone, in person, and email.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to keep data current and meet deadlines.
- A flexible approach to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
- A passion for delivering excellent service.
