Mediq UK are a supplier of healthcare consumables, healthcare equipment, cleaning, and hygiene products, as well as healthcare devices to hospitals, care homes, and other facilities serving the healthcare sector in the UK. We are recruiting for a Facilities Coordinator to join our QA team based in Castle Donington. Reporting into the Head of Quality and Regulatory, the Facilities Coordinator will manage the daily upkeep, maintenance, and operations of a company's physical space. You will ensure the operational work areas are safe, efficient, and functional by coordinating repairs, overseeing contractors, managing supplies, handling work orders, and ensuring health & safety compliance. The coordinator will act as a key link between operations and service providers to maintain a productive work environment.

Salary: Β£30,000

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and oversee routine/planned preventative maintenance for building systems (HVAC, security, plumbing, alarms, MHE) and equipment, and arrange for repairs.
  • Contractor Management: Act as the main point of contact for external contractors, negotiating services, managing contracts, inductions, permits to work and ensuring quality work.
  • Health & Safety: Performing regular building safety inspections, ensuring compliance with fire and security regulations, and maintaining safety records.
  • Inventory & Supplies: Monitor and manage stock of facilities related consumables (Baling wire, replacement beams etc).
  • Operations Hygiene: Manage work equipment and ensure internal and external work areas are maintained.
  • Facilities Requests Management: Handle incoming maintenance requests and resolve issues as swiftly as possible, providing feedback to the initiator.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to management on facility status, expenses, and projects.

  • Strong organisational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and safety regulations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with staff and contractors.
  • Experience with facilities management software is a plus.
  • IT literate.
  • Flexible and resilient – able to deal with time constraints and adversity.
