This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their career in accounting while gaining hands‑on experience and studying towards a recognised qualification. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support day‑to‑day finance operations, assist with management accounting activities, and develop a strong foundation in financial processes, systems, and reporting. Full training and support will be provided. As part of this apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto an AAT Level 3 qualification.
Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Support bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance
- Help prepare accruals, prepayments, and basic journal entries
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist in budget monitoring and cost tracking
- Support credit control and accounts payable activities
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as required
- Participate in ongoing training and coursework related to the AAT Level 3 qualification
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
- A-levels or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
- An interest in finance and accounting
- Commitment to studying towards the AAT Level 3 qualification
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management abilities
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
