Mediq UK supplies healthcare consumables, equipment, cleaning and hygiene products and devices to hospitals, care homes and other facilities serving the healthcare sector in the UK.

The Programme Manager is responsible for the successful planning, governance, and delivery of complex, cross‑functional programmes that support the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Salary – £70,000

Responsibilities

  • Programme Leadership & Governance – hand‑on end‑to‑end structure ownership, managing communication and engagement with key stakeholders
  • Own the end‑to‑end governance of multiple strategic programmes (ERP, M&A integrations, data, transformation)
  • Establish and maintain programme structures, including steering committees, governance forums and decision‑making frameworks
  • Ensure clear accountability across all workstreams without directly delivering project outputs
  • Provide high‑quality reporting to SLT, including progress, risks and value realisation
  • Define and maintain the overall programme structure, including governance frameworks, reporting cadence, and decision‑making processes
  • Develop and manage integrated programme plans, ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams and projects
  • Time visibility to enable decision making – simple toolkit development to align project management mapping and dependencies
  • Coordinate activities across project teams, ensuring effective management of resources, dependencies, risks and issues
  • Monitor programme progress, performance and delivery against agreed milestones, taking corrective action where required
  • Provide regular, high‑quality reporting and insights to senior stakeholders, including programme status, risks and outcomes
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and ensure clear communication across all levels of the organisation
  • Ensure appropriate resource alignment and prioritisation across programme activities
  • Establish and maintain programme controls, including risk, issue and change management processes
  • Drive consistency in delivery standards, methodologies and documentation across projects
  • Track and support the realisation of programme benefits, ensuring alignment to business objectives
  • Act as the escalation point for programme‑level challenges and support resolution in a timely manner

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience delivering complex programmes spanning multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of programme and project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risks, dependencies and competing priorities
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision‑making
  • Excellent organisational, planning and coordination skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
  • Understanding of complex and competing priorities to ensure pace, momentum and decision‑making
  • Experience in large‑scale transformation or change programmes
  • Familiarity with structured methodologies (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, PMP)
  • Experience working in matrixed or multi‑entity environments
