We are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join our team based in Castle Donington. Mediq UK are a supplier of healthcare consumables, equipment, cleaning, hygiene products, and healthcare devices to hospitals, care homes, and other facilities serving the healthcare sector in the UK. This high-impact role is responsible for leading a team of Management Accountants while supporting the Financial Controller. The Finance Manager will deliver accurate financial control, forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting (statutory accounts), and compliance (Corporation Tax, VAT, etc.). The role is 3 days at Mediq UK HQ, Castle Donington, and 2 days WFH, with two visits a month to our North London (Theobold) office.
Salary: £60,000 + Car Allowance / Company Car
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and produce monthly management accounts within reporting timetables.
- Complete reporting templates for uploading into Group Consolidation Systems.
- Identify and investigate variances versus budget and forecast.
- Maintain Fixed Asset register, Capex & project reporting.
- Produce reports for the monthly reporting pack and support the business with requested financial information.
- Support wider internal finance teams like Commercial Finance, AP & AR.
- Review financial processes to ensure tight control and compliance with Mediq policy.
- Develop cash reporting and forecasting techniques, including driving working capital improvement.
- Scrutinise Opex management of Supply Chain operations.
- Assist in balance-sheet reviews, including regular preparation/review of balance-sheet reconciliations.
- Liaise with internal auditors to provide all information set out in audit scope.
- Assist in preparation of budgets & forecasts for the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow management.
- Provide external auditors with required information as set out in their audit scope and resolve their queries.
- Assist in preparation of the statutory accounts.
- Review and submit VAT return.
- Support Corporation Tax submission with provision of tax information requested.
- Submit government reporting (ONS, supplier payment reporting, plastics tax, etc).
Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Experience in a similar industry and commerce roles.
- Proficiency in various accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc).
- Experience in ERP implementation.
- Experience managing and mentoring a team.
- Highly organised, with great attention to detail.
