Mediplacements are looking to recruit a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist for a locum position with our client in South Yorkshire. The pay for this position is GBP23-GBP28 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration. Working hours: Mon-Fri 9:00-16:00.
Responsibilities
- Provide dysphagia assessments and interventions; must be trained and competent to work unsupervised in a community setting.
- Visit clients in the community; own transport is required to travel around the city and to clients’ homes.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary community neuro rehabilitation team, with experience in neuro rehab in a community setting (long-term neurological conditions, e.g., Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease).
- Support clients with progressive long-term neurological conditions, including MS, Parkinson’s disease, MND, and HD.
- Initially for 3-4 months.
Qualifications/Experience
- Experience delivering dysphagia assessments (swallowing).
- Experience working with clients with progressive long-term neurological conditions in a community setting is preferred.
- Ability to travel to visit clients in their homes and surrounding areas with access to own transport.
