*Job Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse specialising in Endoscopy to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care during endoscopic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy and excellent patient interaction skills to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all patients.
*Duties*
* Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
* Assist physicians during endoscopic examinations, ensuring all necessary equipment is ready and functioning properly.
* Monitor patients’ vital signs and comfort levels throughout the procedure, providing immediate care as needed.
* Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all relevant information before, during, and after procedures.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and follow-up.
* Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment in the procedure room.
* Educate patients on post-procedure care, including potential side effects and when to seek further medical attention.
*Experience*
* A valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is essential.
* Previous experience in an endoscopy unit or similar clinical setting is highly desirable. Admissions, Procedures and Recovery
* Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to gastrointestinal health is required.
* Proven ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
