Medinet are seeking an experienced ENT Consultant with a specialist interest in thyroid surgery to support weekend elective operating lists. The postholder will deliver high quality care to adult patients requiring day case thyroid procedures. Complex thyroid surgery is excluded from this role.
Main duties of the job:
- Provide consultant level care for adult thyroid day case procedures.
- Undertake weekend elective operating lists (Saturday and Sunday).
- Ensure safe, effective clinical decision making within the scope of standard thyroid surgery.
- Work collaboratively with theatre teams and wider clinical colleagues to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Adhere to Trust policies, clinical governance frameworks, and national guidelines.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Substantive Consultant with full GMC registration.
- Must be on the Specialist Register.
- Listed on the BAETS register.
- Minimum of 100 independent thyroid cases (not assisted or supervised).
- Demonstrated competence in managing routine thyroid surgical caseloads.
- Experience working within adult elective services.
