Medinet are seeking an experienced Consultant Rheumatologist to support weekend outpatient activity. The postholder will deliver high quality care to new adult rheumatology patients within a structured outpatient setting. This role is offered on a temporary basis until March 2026.
Main duties of the job:
- Provide consultant level rheumatology outpatient assessments for new adult patients.
- Manage a caseload of 16 patients per clinic/list.
- Deliver safe, evidence based clinical decision making in line with Trust and national guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and effective patient pathways.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to governance processes as required.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Full GMC registration.
- On the Specialist Register for Rheumatology.
- Must hold a substantive consultant post or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing new adult rheumatology patients in an outpatient setting.
- Ability to work independently and deliver high quality clinical care.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
