We are seeking an experienced Rheumatology Consultant to support outpatient activity at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, with occasional clinics at Clifton Hospital. This role focuses on adult outpatient rheumatology clinics and offers regular weekend and clinic based work.
Role Overview
- Adult patients only
- Routine and general rheumatology clinics
- No paediatric patients
- No 2 week wait (2WW) clinics
Main duties of the job
- Approximately 14 patients per clinic
- 40 minute appointment slots
- 2 to 3 clinics per day
- Clinics will initially consist mainly of new patients, with some follow up appointments
Job responsibilities
- Deliver outpatient general rheumatology clinics for adult patients
- Manage new patient consultations and appropriate follow up appointments
- Review, interpret, and action investigation results in a timely manner
- Complete clinic correspondence accurately and promptly using Heidi
- Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with Trust and GMC guidelines
- Work collaboratively with clinical, nursing, and administrative teams
- Comply with all Trust policies, including governance, information governance, and safeguarding requirements

- GMC Specialist Registered
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check
