We are seeking a motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or equivalent with experience in neurodevelopmental services to support our autism assessment pathway. You will conduct pre-assessment screenings, gather developmental histories, and assist in the administration of assessment tools such as ADOS-2 (if trained).
Main duties of the job
- Conduct structured pre-screening assessments and collect developmental history.
- Administer elements of standardised tools (ADOS-2, GADS-2, CAT-Q) under supervision.
- Liaise with patients and families throughout the diagnostic process.
- Assist in writing clinical summaries and collating evidence for MDT review.
- Support psychiatrists and psychologists in case formulation.
- Provide psychoeducation and ongoing aftercare support post-diagnosis.
- Ensure documentation and governance compliance across all cases.

Person Specification
- NMC registration (RMN, RNLD, or equivalent).
- Previous experience in autism or mental health services.
- ADOS-2 training desirable (training can be provided).
- Excellent interpersonal and report-writing skills.
- Understanding of NICE autism guidelines and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
