Production Planner (Finished Goods)

Location: Aylesbury Innovation Centre (Onsite 5 days a week)

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Production Planner to join our team, focusing specifically on the finished goods production plan at our fast-growing skincare manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Production Planning Lead, you will be a key driving force behind our production line operations, ensuring we meet demand while maintaining our high standards for quality and efficiency.

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Production Planning & Schedule Management: Take full ownership of the finished goods production schedule. Create detailed daily production plans, monitor adherence alongside the Manufacturing Manager, identify planned vs. actual output variances, and keep operations running smoothly.
  • Inventory & Material Management: Strategically plan and monitor bulk availability for finished goods production. Partner with the Supply Planner & Material Buyer using MRP systems to ensure material readiness, eliminate stockouts, minimise waste, and optimise inventory levels using KPIs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Control, R&D, Demand, Supply Chain, and Procurement to ensure a smooth end-to-end workflow and keep stakeholders aligned on plan updates.
  • Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Use analytical insights to identify bottlenecks, optimise equipment utilisation, and recommend cost-saving measures in resource utilisation.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Maintain long-range capacity planning (up to 12 months out) to spot constraints early and deliver transparent performance updates across internal channels.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Demonstrable experience as a production planner within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical proficiency using MRP systems, production planning software, and Microsoft Excel to manage stock boards and production data.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of building collaborative cross-functional relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proactive organisation and leadership capabilities to manage dynamic priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Demonstrable experience within cosmetics, personal care, or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) manufacturing.
