The Direct-to-Consumer channel is experiencing phenomenal growth within Medik8, with huge ambitions and plans to continue this acceleration. The ‘D2C’ team drives this performance: we capture potential customers at the start of their journey through key digital marketing channels; ensure they have a positive, helpful and engaging experience on our websites; then build an ongoing relationship with them from their first purchase and beyond. We think digitally and commercially, and make decisions based on what the data tells us – if we aren’t sure, we test it and aren’t afraid to change course if it’s the right thing to do.
Communication is key to successful marketing and sales, and in a world where most people look at a piece of marketing for a split second, we have to make sure that we land important messages across our digital platforms, fast! However we also know our customers love to learn about skincare, and at Medik8, we want to help them to make the right decision. Therefore education is key, and creating content that both engages and informs is a big focus for our team.
As an expert in writing for digital channels, you will capture the principles and values that built the Medik8 brand and showcase our amazing products. Working closely with R&D, Global Brand and the rest of the D2C team across acquisition, website and retention, you will create exciting and informative content that not only engages and educates our customers but also inspires them to want to learn more.
You will understand how to take broader messaging and ideas, and translate them into channel-relevant copy that speaks to our customer where they are and in a way that delivers. You have a great understanding of where brand meets commercial, and with that you produce incredible content – with commercial intent.
In more detail your role will include:
- Delivering new content for our online skincare resource, co-ordinating across various stakeholders in R&D, Global Brand and D2C as needed to source the right information.
- Writing blog articles for our website to support our SEO efforts.
- Working with the SEO agency to get input about high opportunity content areas and themes.
- Writing other blog copy (trending, educational), briefing or sourcing additional content to support such as images, video and interactive content.
- Work with freelance writers to create industry expert blog articles.
- Supporting the various channel owners across D2C in creating content with strong commercial messaging.
- Scripting social media ads as needed to support our paid partnerships.
- Writing the in-asset and surrounding copy for paid social ads to deliver compelling storytelling.
- Supporting regional campaigns with tailored copy to land key messages in the best way for individual digital channels, including paid media, website banners and emails.
Requirements:
- Excellent copy writing and storytelling skills.
- Experience writing copy to support SEO.
- Experience writing copy for digital channels to drive commercial objectives, and understand the nuances involved.
- Highest focus on attention to detail and accuracy around spelling and grammar.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal); able to influence and inspire any audience.
- Self-starter, with experience working in a fast paced commercial environment.
- Experience within the beauty industry (can be in-house or agency, media).
