Salary: £50,000 - £55,000

Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (05:00 AM - 17:00 PM)

This is a unique chance to join a fast-growing, global skincare brand operating as a full-vertical manufacturing business. Responsibilities
  • Reactive & Preventative Maintenance: Carry out machinery fault‑finding and troubleshooting processes, alongside scheduled maintenance tasks and services to minimise downtime of both plant and machinery.
  • Breakdown Response: Respond to equipment breakdowns efficiently, executing root cause analysis to implement effective, long‑term technical solutions.
  • Operational & Changeover Support: Monitor and supply engineering support during machine setup and changeovers, ensuring finished goods conform to strict quality standards as efficiently as possible.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyse production data and collaborate with key stakeholders to recommend evidence‑based improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing wastage, and optimising processes.
  • Systems & Data Tracking: Use and maintain in‑house ERP and CMMS systems to accurately record completed work, schedule future interventions, and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Provide simple, transparent communication to opposite shifts regarding ongoing engineering topics, and assist in training staff on new equipment and processes.
  • Safety & Hygiene Compliance: Maintain high standards of health and safety, adhering to all safety regulations, company policies, and hygienic manufacturing practices (GMP).
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: Demonstrable post‑qualification experience in multi‑skilled maintenance engineering within a GMP‑regulated, high‑volume manufacturing facility (such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG).
  • Technical Expertise: Strong hands‑on mechanical and electrical capabilities, with a deep understanding of machinery, engineering tools, and automated production lines.
  • Problem‑Solving Skills: A solutions‑focused approach with proven experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation, team training, and effective liaison across all levels of the business.
  • Attributes: A proactive, highly organised individual with outstanding attention to detail and the agility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility: A collaborative team player who is flexible and willing to respond to operational emergencies if required.
Desirable
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship & Qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or above) in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
  • Holds an 18th edition electrical qualification.
  • Specific Root Cause Analysis (RCA) training.
  • Valid 3a & 3b IPAF licence.
  • Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding, or machining experience operating lathes and mills.
  • Recognised Health and Safety qualification (such as IOSH).
