Production Planner (Blending)

Reporting to the Production Planner Lead, you will be the key operational driver behind our blending operations, ensuring our schedules meet dynamic demand while upholding our high standards for quality and operational efficiency.
Salary £38,000 - £40,000
Working Pattern: Onsite, 5 days per week

The Role

  • Schedule Ownership: Lead and maintain the blending production schedule, creating clear, actionable plans to meet finished goods demand while daily monitoring adherence alongside the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Material & Inventory Optimisation: Work closely with the Material Buyer using MRP systems to ensure timely raw material availability, preventing stockouts, reducing waste, and improving inventory KPIs.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Build collaborative partnerships across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Control, R&D, Demand Planning, and Procurement to ensure a smooth, end-to-end workflow.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use analytical insights to identify process bottlenecks, optimise equipment utilisation, and implement cost-effective operational improvements.
  • Long-Range Capacity Planning: Conduct multi-month forward planning (up to 9 months) to anticipate capacity constraints and maintain operational visibility across the organisation.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrable experience as a production planner within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • High proficiency using production planning software, MRP systems, and Microsoft Excel to manage inventory boards and production data.
  • Strong analytic and diagnostic skills, with the ability to turn production data into continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trust and align priorities across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organisation and self-management skills, bringing a proactive, solution-oriented approach to complex daily schedules.

Desirable Criteria

  • Prior experience within cosmetics, personal care, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing environments.
