As part of our continued expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer Team Leader to join our team in Aylesbury. Operating across a schedule designed to seamlessly bridge our morning and afternoon shifts, you will play a central role in elevating our engineering operations.

Location: Aylesbury

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 18:30 PM

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

As a Maintenance Engineer Team Leader in our production facility, you will champion the maintenance and optimisation of our manufacturing equipment and processes. Combining a data-focused mindset with a people-first leadership style, you will empower a team of multi-skilled engineers while leveraging modern CMMS platforms to drive operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with Production, Blending, QA, QC, and Project teams to ensure our production lines run efficiently, safely, and to clinical quality standards.

What You Will Do

  • Lead & Mentor: Act as a visible leader on the floor, coaching and upskilling engineers on new machinery, processes, and SOPs to nurture a high-performing culture.
  • Drive Data Integrity: Act as the department champion for internal ERP and CMMS platforms, managing PPM schedules, reactive work orders, and spare parts inventory.
  • Optimise Performance: Analyse line performance data to recommend evidence-based improvements that reduce downtime, boost efficiency, and eliminate waste.
  • Solve Complex Faults: Guide the team through machinery troubleshooting, leading detailed root cause analysis (RCA) to implement sustainable fixes.
  • Elevate H&S Standards: Maintain exemplary health and safety standards across the engineering department, creating detailed work instructions and SOPs.
  • Ensure Seamless Handovers: Provide transparent, clear communication across shift patterns to maintain alignment on ongoing maintenance and line performance metrics.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering within a GMP-regulated high-speed manufacturing environment (e.g., Cosmetics, Pharmaceuticals, or Food).
  • Proven experience supervising, mentoring, or leading a team of multi-skilled engineers.
  • Advanced proficiency using CMMS platforms to build maintenance schedules, monitor KPIs, and track inventory.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical fault-finding capabilities alongside structured root cause analysis techniques.
  • Solid communication skills for technical reporting, team training, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proactive continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail and high health and safety awareness.

Desirable:

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or formal qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
  • 18th Edition Electrical Qualification.
  • Hold 3a & 3b IPAF licences or IOSH certification.
  • Practical knowledge of Agility CMMS, welding (TIG/MIG), or operating workshop machinery (lathes & mills).
