As a Hygiene Operative, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our manufacturing operations meet the highest GMP standards. Ensuring all cleaning, sanitisation and disinfecting processes are executed in a safe and meticulous manner required for the production of our premium skincare products as we continue to grow. This role will be site-based, Monday to Friday – 06:00-14:30. For this opportunity, we are offering up to £27,000 per annum.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Deep Cleaning: Semi-automated production lines, conveyor systems, and auxiliary components to 100% prevent cross-contamination.
- Assembly and disassembly of filling chassis.
- GMP Compliance: Follow strict SOPs and verify cleaning effectiveness through bacterial/particle swabbing.
- Documentation: Maintain precise, real-time logs for all cleaning schedules and equipment status.
- Chemical Safety: Safely dilute, handle, and store industrial cleaning agents in line with COSHH.
- Waste Management: Efficiently process general and hazardous production waste per environmental guidelines.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to schedule deep cleans without slowing down production.
Essential:
- Previous GMP/Cleanroom Experience: Prior experience in pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, cosmetic production.
- Following Procedures: The ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) exactly. In a GMP environment, if a step is missed, the area is not compliant.
- COSHH Awareness: Knowledge of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health. You must understand how to handle, dilute, and dispose of industrial-grade disinfectants safely.
- Attention to Detail: Take pride in getting the smallest details right the first time.
- Literacy & Documentation: Written English is vital for accurately completing Cleaning Logs and Forms.
Desirable:
- Machine disassembly: Proven experience of disassembling production line components safely and correctly according to written procedures.
- Problem Solving: The ability to identify potential cross-contamination risks (e.g., a damaged floor seal) and escalate it to maintenance.
- Specialised Equipment Training: Experience using automated or semi-automated cleaning equipment.
