Senior Analytics Engineer in Elstree

Reporting to the Head of Data and Information Systems, the Senior Analytics Engineer will identify opportunities and develop new strategies and models to enhance business efficiency and performance, while addressing operational, financial and technological risks. Working closely with business units to gain an in-depth understanding of Medik8’s strategy, processes and roadmap, you will create visibility on business performance and process metrics through high-level data dashboards to help key stakeholders make the most critical decisions.

The ideal candidate will be inquisitive and methodical, with proven experience as a Business Analyst in a complex, commercial environment, strong knowledge of industry Business Analysis standards, and extensive experience working with databases and data visualisation products. As we grow at a phenomenal pace, this role will influence our data and BI initiatives and be a key player in driving data-driven solutions to make a critical impact on our transformation journey.

Your role in detail:

• Develop understanding of the company’s strategic objectives, key business metrics and the needs of all departments to define and lead business information systems streams.
• Contribute to fostering a data-driven culture, advocate for data as a main driver, and promote the importance of analytics.
• Produce and maintain a complete, accurate, and relevant suite of reports to serve cross-functional teams, providing data that facilitates simplicity & efficiency and leads to powerful decision-making.
• Proactively engage with the business to gather, document and gain sign-off on ongoing requirements, adapting quickly and generating timely visibility on critical data for end-users.
• Perform data mapping to identify gaps and bring together the data team and business users to source additional information.
• Create and lead an engaged and high-performing team that understands business needs and uses data tools efficiently, ensuring quality and on-time delivery of reports.
• Guarantee adherence to data handling principles and best practices.

We would really like to hear from you if you have:

• Solid experience as an Analytics Engineer or similar role within BI or Data.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with modern data stacks (BigQuery and dbt are a must).
• Hands-on experience with Tableau or similar BI tools (Looker, Omni, Power BI).
• Strong commercial acumen – you understand both data and the business problems it solves.
• Familiarity with version control (Git); Python skills are a bonus.
• Exposure to orchestration tools such as DBT, Airflow or Orchestra.
• Comfortable working autonomously in fast-paced, unstructured environments.
• Proficiency in designing both analytical and operational data models.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail, maintaining accuracy and consistency across all tasks and projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Skilled in presenting complex information in a simple, visual, and impactful way.
• A genuine interest in AI technologies and data innovation.
