Australia | Expedited Specialist Registration from January 2026
Australia has officially opened a new fast‑track pathway to specialist registration for internationally trained General Physicians and General Paediatricians.
Who Can Apply?
General Paediatrics
You may be eligible if you hold:
- UK: MRCPCH + CCT (awarded from August 2007 onwards)
- Ireland: MRCPI (Paeds) + CSCST (from July 2010 onwards)
- Recent experience in general paediatrics is required
General Medicine
You may be eligible if you hold:
- UK: MRCP(UK) + CCT in:
- General Internal Medicine (from August 2007), or
- GIM with Acute Medicine (from August 2009), or
- Approved dual CCT pathways (from August 2019)
- Recent practice in general medicine is required
