Consultant Opportunities in General Medicine & General Paediatrics Australia | Expedited Specialist Registration from January 2026. Australia has officially opened a new fast-track pathway to specialist registration for internationally trained General Physicians and General Paediatricians.

Who Can Apply?

  • General Paediatrics: You may be eligible if you hold: UK: MRCPCH + CCT (awarded from August 2007 onwards), Ireland: MRCPI (Paeds) + CSCST (from July 2010 onwards). Recent experience in general paediatrics is required.
  • General Medicine: You may be eligible if you hold: UK: MRCP(UK) + CCT in: General Internal Medicine (from August 2007), or GIM with Acute Medicine (from August 2009), or Approved dual CCT pathways (from August 2019). Recent practice in general medicine is required.
