Job Title: Occupational Health Technician

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £26,325 per annum, plus overtime up to £33,000

Location: Peterborough

What Does the Role Involve?

  • Carrying out health surveillance tests such as Audiometry, Skin prick allergy testing, Vision screening and Venepuncture (full training provided)
  • Preparing and maintaining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Identifying results that need follow-up and escalating them to the clinical team
  • Supporting health promotion initiatives, such as wellness events or wellbeing campaigns
  • Helping to improve processes and keep services efficient, effective, and patient‑focused
  • Completing clinical paperwork and updating health records accurately

No two days are quite the same. You’ll work independently most of the time, so being confident, organised and self‑motivated is key. Throughout your role, you’ll be supported by a friendly, experienced clinical team.

This role offers hands‑on clinical experience and a solid foundation for a career in occupational health.

Who we’re looking for?

  • Have a degree in Sports Science, Physiology, Health & Exercise Science or a related field
  • Have a full clean UK driver’s licence, able to drive and park a mobile unit at home (no special licence required)
  • Be a great communicator with excellent organisational skills
  • Be hands‑on, motivated, and excited about improving health outcomes in the workplace
  • Want to build a career with purpose and progression

Bonus points if you have experience as an EMT, Occupational Health Technician or in nursing – it’s not essential. We provide full training!

Additional Information

  • Candidates must have a full clean driver’s licence, able to drive and park a mobile unit at home.
  • Mobile units are 3.5 tons; a special licence is not required.
  • All mobile unit drivers will receive familiarisation training.
  • All drivers must undergo a Driver’s Medical.

Salary and Experience

  • Employment with Medigold is subject to DBS check and evidence of Right to Work in the UK.
  • Full training is provided to all candidates.

Working Area

  • Overnight stays required for this location; hotel and meal allowances are paid by the company.

Working Starts and Finishes

  • Start and finish times depend on client needs, ranging from early, usual or late starts, including shift work between 11pm and 6am, paid at a higher rate.
  • Core hours are 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours × 5 days per week).
  • Overtime usually consists of travel time to and from sites and is paid at a higher rate.
