Job Title: Senior Procurement Business Partner
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Location: Hybrid to Northampton, NN4 7BF
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum
As a Senior Procurement Business Partner with Medigold Health, you’ll take a leading role in shaping and delivering strategic procurement across the organisation. You’ll lead on sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, and complex contract negotiations to ensure value for money, compliance, and commercial effectiveness.
Working closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, you’ll align procurement activity with wider business goals, using data and market insight to inform decisions, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement. You’ll also promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices across the supply chain, ensuring suppliers meet our standards and support our ESG commitments.

Main Objectives
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Develop and execute forward-looking procurement strategies aligned with the organisation\’s long-term goals, financial targets, and operational priorities.
- Champion value creation by driving strategic sourcing initiatives that enhance cost efficiency, supply chain resilience, and business agility.
- Lead the evolution of procurement as a value-adding function, ensuring integration with wider business planning and commercial decision-making.
Operational Excellence & Supply Chain Management
- Oversee the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring governance, compliance, and consistency across all procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
- Manage key supplier relationships, building partnerships that deliver innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead contract negotiations with a focus on achieving best-in-class value, risk mitigation, and service quality.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to anticipate and meet internal demand, aligning procurement strategies with project and departmental objectives.
Supplier & Risk Management
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate procurement-related risks through robust controls and contingency planning.
- Drive supplier performance through effective contract management, KPI tracking, and continuous service reviews.
- Own and maintain supplier contract templates and ensure documentation is version-controlled, aligned with evolving business needs, and compliant with policy requirements (e.g., OneTrust).
- Champion sustainable and ethical procurement practices across the supply base.
Market Intelligence & Innovation
- Monitor market dynamics and emerging trends to inform strategic sourcing and secure competitive advantage.
- Continuously scan the market for new suppliers, products, and services that align with business goals and future capability requirements.
- Work with external procurement consultants to support the in-house team, making sure their work adds value and fits with our goals.
Data & Insights
- Use procurement analytics to deliver practical insights on spend, supplier performance, and risk.
- Develop and maintain procurement dashboards and reports, ensuring data-driven decision-making at all levels.
- Provide timely and accurate commercial data to support business cases and investment decisions.
People Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing procurement team, encouraging a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance objectives, drive accountability, and support professional development to build future procurement capability.
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and deliver procurement transformation initiatives to modernise processes, increase automation, and improve procurement maturity.
- Act as a change agent, promoting agile ways of working and embedding procurement best practices across the business.
- Resolve supply issues with urgency and strategic foresight, ensuring minimal business disruption and optimal outcomes.
ESG-Focused
- Embed ESG principles into sourcing strategies, ensuring suppliers meet sustainability, ethical, and governance standards aligned with the company’s values and regulatory obligations.
- Work with suppliers to drive environmental and social improvements, promoting responsible sourcing, carbon reduction, and ethical labour practices throughout the supply chain.
- Evaluate and score suppliers on ESG performance, integrating sustainability and social impact into supplier selection, onboarding, and performance reviews.
- Ensure procurement decisions support corporate ESG goals, balancing cost efficiency with environmental responsibility and social impact.
- Champion sustainable procurement practices, promoting circular economy principles, reducing waste, and encouraging innovation that supports long-term ESG outcomes.
Requirements for this role
Essential
- Previous experience of leading a procurement or purchasing team with significant supplier management experience.
- Experience of healthcare purchasing or procurement.
- Knowledge of contracts, invoicing, and negotiation of terms, and previous experience of delivering commercial or procurement projects.
- Time & Diary Management – must be able to manage own time and diary, whilst working in a hybrid environment and managing a remote team.
- Demonstrable experience of managing effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) – MCIPS.
- Experience of managing teams.
