Job Title: Senior Procurement Business Partner
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Location: Hybrid to Northampton, NN4 7BF
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum
Responsibilities
- As a Senior Procurement Business Partner, lead and shape strategic procurement across the organisation.
- Lead sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, and complex contract negotiations to ensure value for money, compliance, and commercial effectiveness.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align procurement with wider business goals, using data and market insight to inform decisions, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices across the supply chain, ensuring suppliers meet standards and support ESG commitments.
- Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team, embed best practices, and ensure procurement supports wider business objectives.
Key Objectives and Areas
- Strategic Procurement Leadership: Develop and execute forward-looking procurement strategies aligned with long-term goals, financial targets, and operational priorities.
- Operational Excellence & Supply Chain Management: Oversee end-to-end supply chain, governance, compliance, and consistency across procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
- Supplier & Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate procurement-related risks; manage supplier relationships and contract templates; ensure policy compliance (e.g., OneTrust).
- Market Intelligence & Innovation: Monitor market dynamics, identify new suppliers and services, and work with external procurement consultants when needed.
- Data & Insights: Use procurement analytics to deliver spend, supplier performance, and risk insights; maintain dashboards and reports for data-driven decisions.
- People Development: Coach and develop the procurement team with clear objectives and professional growth opportunities.
- Transformation & Continuous Improvement: Lead procurement transformation, promote agile ways of working, and resolve supply issues with strategic foresight.
- ESG-Focused: Embed ESG principles in sourcing, drive sustainable procurement, and score suppliers on ESG performance.
Qualifications
- Experience leading a procurement or purchasing team with significant supplier management experience.
- Knowledge of contracts, invoicing, negotiation, and delivering procurement projects.
- Time & diary management; able to work in a hybrid environment and manage a remote team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
- Experience of managing teams.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience of healthcare purchasing or procurement.
