Job Title: Occupational Health Physician / Pension Scheme Medical Adviser
Contract: Permanent – full-time or part-time hours available (minimum 2 days per week)
Location: Home based, fully remote

As a Scheme Medical Adviser (SMA) at Medigold Health, you will play a key role in assessing ill‑health retirement and injury benefit applications and delivering pensions medical advice to support our clients, in the public and private sector. You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring the highest standards of pensions medical advice while using Medigold Health’s internal systems to maintain accurate medical records and deliver an efficient, scheme compliant service. While previous pensions experience is preferable, full training will be provided. You will also have one‑to‑one support and mentoring from senior Scheme Medical Advisers and regular contact with peers through team meetings, in addition to access to wider internal CPD opportunities within Medigold Health. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fascinating, stimulating, and often complex and challenging area, in order to support pension trustees and other delegated authorities to undertake their responsibilities in a procedurally and legally compliant way.
Responsibilities
- esThe delivery of the Pensions Medical Services to Medigold Health clients and to ensure that the provision of the pensions medical advice is, at all times, of the highest standar
- d.To ensure best practice, including a standardised approach to pensions medical assessments, which are fair, objective and compliant with relevant regulatory requirement
- Provide medical advice as Scheme Medical Adviser on the applicability of pension scheme criteria in individual cases. Work may include reviews of existing awards and appeals, in addition to injury benefit assessmen
- Utilise Medigold’s internal medical records database and diary system to ensure that the clinical procedures are fulfill
- In general pensions work is system‑based and remote with no direct contact with the pension scheme member, so Scheme Medical Advisers work from home. Liaise with Administrators/Team Leaders regarding both client and pension scheme member queries (with support from Senior Scheme Medical Advisers as appropriat
