You’ll be joining a team where your clinical judgement makes a noticeable difference to how organisations look after their people. One moment you may be offering calm, practical advice to a client navigating a difficult sickness absence case, and the next you could be advising pension trustees reviewing a complex ill health retirement claim, or supporting the implementation of a company health surveillance programme. The role you’ll be doing:
- Providing medical advice to a wide range of private and public sector organisations nationwide, from pre-placement through sickness absence to ill health retirement.
- Delivering telephone, video and/or face-to-face consultations to conduct Occupational Health assessments.
- Managing a range of cases including fitness for work, workplace adjustments, return-to-work, and health surveillance.
- Producing clear, concise and professional reports supported by our industry-leading in-house assistive technology and using medical opinion to make evidence-based practical recommendations.
- Liaising with our clients and other healthcare professionals to support employee health and wellbeing within the organisation.
- Ensuring the provision of occupational health services to Medigold clients and their employees is of the highest standard at all times.
What you’ll need:
- Qualified Occupational Health Physician with DipOccMed/ AFOM/ MFOM/ FFOM on the GMC register with a current licence to practise.
- Demonstrable experience in occupational health, preferably including absence case management, fitness for work assessments, and health surveillance.
- Good understanding of relevant workplace health and safety legislation, employment law and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to delivering a high-quality service and your own continuing professional development.
