Responsibilities:
- Lead and scale multiple test engineering teams across projects, encouraging a culture of automation-first and shift-left testing practices.
- Own and advance quality engineering practices for a defined set of projects, leading hands-on adoption of modern frameworks including Playwright and Cypress.
- Architect and oversee the development of enterprise-level testing tools and platforms to improve organisational quality engineering capabilities.
- Establish and govern test automation standards, ensuring consistent OOP implementations across all testing frameworks.
- Guide the implementation of comprehensive CI/CD testing pipelines using GitHub Actions, enabling automated production deployments.
- Manage AWS cloud testing infrastructure strategy, optimising cost and performance for large-scale test execution.
- Partner with engineering leadership to influence product architecture decisions that support testability and quality goals.
- Develop and track important quality KPIs, providing executive-level reporting on testing effectiveness and release readiness.
- Collaborate with product management and development leadership to align quality engineering programs with our goals and delivery timelines.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams.
- Leadership mindset focused on shift-left testing practices, promoting early testing integration in the development lifecycle.
- Automation-first approach with proven ability to ship releases to production using fully automated processes.
- Experience in creating enterprise-level tools and frameworks to elevate quality engineering practices to the next level.
- Proven track record of developing and executing effective QA metrics to drive quality improvements.
- Background in software testing, including expertise in test automation and performance testing.
- Extensive experience with modern testing frameworks and tools, including Playwright and Cypress for end-to-end testing.
- Proven expertise in creating comprehensive test pipelines using GitHub Actions for continuous integration and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-based testing infrastructure.
- Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies and continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) processes.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and integrating automated tests within CI pipelines.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
