Locum Team Lead OT required for a specialist inpatient neurorehabilitation service in London. £40–£55 DOE. This is a high-calibre placement for a senior Occupational Therapist who wants two things:
- a genuinely complex neuro caseload, and
- a leadership remit where you can set standards, unblock barriers, and keep rehab moving.
The service supports adults following brain injury and other complex neurological presentations. Expect a mixed clinical picture — physical disability alongside cognitive impairment and, at times, behavioural / neuropsychiatric complexity — so this suits an OT who is calm, structured and decisive within MDT environments.
What you’ll be doing (Team Lead remit)
- Lead OT delivery across the inpatient pathway: assessment → intervention → review → discharge planning
- Hold a complex caseload and provide senior clinical decision-making within the MDT
- Drive goal-setting and functional rehab plans that translate into measurable progress
- Keep discharge pathways moving: equipment/adaptations, risk-aware planning, onward liaison and clear recommendations
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to OT colleagues and rehab support staff
- Shape quality and consistency: governance habits, robust documentation, and practical service improvements (8a-leaning scope where appropriate)
What I’m looking for
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
- Strong neuro / ABI / complex rehab background (inpatient experience highly advantageous)
- Confident with prioritisation, risk management, family/carer communication and complex discharge planning
- Leadership/supervision experience appropriate to Band 7–8a level
Rate / start
- £40–£55 per hour (DOE)
- ASAP start
- Contract length + working pattern confirmed on enquiry (Band 7–8a depending on experience)
If you’re open to a conversation, DM me “TEAM LEAD OT” and I’ll send the full brief and booking process.
