MedicsPro is currently recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join a team based at the Civic Centre in Newport, working with adults with learning disabilities. This is a great opportunity for an experienced practitioner looking for their next role within a busy and rewarding adult services setting.
The role involves working with adults with learning disabilities, carrying out assessments and reviews, managing a varied caseload, and supporting positive outcomes for individuals and carers. This role will suit someone who is confident working in a fast-paced environment, whether that’s within front door services, community teams or hospital discharge pathways.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience of assessing and reviewing adults with learning disabilities
- Strong understanding of strengths-based and person-centred practice
- Ability to work effectively in busy, fast-paced services
- Confidence managing complex cases and risk
- Experience working with relevant legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Ability to manage the competing demands of a caseload
- Understanding of safeguarding and the protection of vulnerable adults
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well with colleagues, partner agencies, service users and carers
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office / Windows systems
- Commitment to confidentiality, professional standards and ongoing development
