I’m hiring a Forensic or Clinical Psychologist to join a specialist secure inpatient service (adults 18+) in the Birmingham area. You’ll deliver evidence‑based interventions within a collaborative MDT for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983/2007). Flexible, supportive environment with protected supervision and CPD.
Hours: 22.5 hrs/week (3 days) — working days/times flexible.
What you’ll do:
- Complete specialist assessments (file review, interviews, psychometrics, behavioural observation).
- Develop formulations, SPJ risk assessments and treatment plans.
- Deliver/evaluate evidence‑based 1:1 and group therapies.
- Lead on risk assessment & management within the MDT; contribute to discharge planning for the shortest clinically appropriate LoS.
- Administer, score and interpret clinical/neuropsychological measures.
- Produce high‑quality reports (e.g., CPA, Tribunal) and act as professional witness when required.
- Provide psychological input to colleagues (consultation, reflective practice, skills guidance).
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, service development and training.
About you:
- HCPC‑registered Practitioner Psychologist (Forensic or Clinical).
- Pre‑ or post‑qualification experience in forensic/secure, acute MH, rehab or hospital settings.
- Confident in assessment, formulation, intervention and MDT working.
- Enhanced DBS required.
